Frequently Asked Questions

Bed bugs are small, reddish-brown insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals. They are commonly found in beds, couches, and other furniture, as well as in cracks and crevices in walls and floors. Bed bugs are a common household pest, and their bites can cause itching, swelling, and other allergic reactions. They are notoriously difficult to get rid of and can survive for several months without feeding. Bed bugs are not known to transmit any diseases, but their presence can be a nuisance and can cause significant psychological distress for those who are affected.

There are several signs that you may have bed bugs:

  1. Bites: Bed bugs usually feed on exposed skin while people are sleeping, so if you wake up with unexplained bites or a rash, it could be a sign of bed bugs.
  2. Bloodstains: If you see small, reddish-brown stains on your sheets or pillowcases, it could be from bed bugs that have been crushed while feeding.
  3. Exoskeletons: Bed bugs shed their exoskeletons as they grow, so you may find small, translucent shells around your bed or other furniture.
  4. Faecal stains: Bed bugs leave dark, rust-coloured stains on sheets, pillowcases, and other surfaces where they feed or harbour.
  5. Odour: Bed bugs release a musty odour that can be noticeable in heavily infested areas.

The cost of a bed bug infestation can vary widely depending on the size of the infestation, the type of business, and the severity of the problem. For a company, the cost of a bed bug infestation can include:

  1. Loss of revenue: A bed bug infestation can result in a loss of customers and revenue as people avoid the affected area. This is especially true for hotels, apartments, and other businesses that rely on a steady stream of customers.
  2. Reputation damage: Bed bugs are a highly visible and often stigmatized problem, and a company that is known to have bed bugs may suffer from a damaged reputation that can be difficult to repair.
  3. Remediation costs: The cost of treating a bed bug infestation can be significant, especially for large-scale infestations. The cost can include hiring a pest control company, replacing furniture and bedding, and cleaning and disinfecting the affected area.
  4. Legal costs: In some cases, a bed bug infestation can result in legal action, which can be expensive and time-consuming.

Ibug does all the hard work so you can go about your day and not have to worry. Ibug will be hidden away behind each bed, so no-one will even know it’s there. The Ibug will attract any bed bugs that are already in the room to the device and then signal you to tell you that you have bed bug in a particular room.

By having these devices in place, you will save time and money as there will be no need to have a pest controller walking around inspecting the room.
